Two mornings teaching media and English at Stockport special school

This week, I've delivered media workshops to children with special educational needs, also reflecting on my own career being neurodivergent.

An array of students at Inscape House School in Cheadle, Stockport explored who shapes the news and how media influences us, complementing their English curriculum through varied yet structured workshops.

Inscape House School supports a wide range of neurodivergent students with varying communication styles and support needs. Both lower and upper school groups took part in sessions also examining media bias, fake news and why representation matters.

It was a real pleasure to revisit Inscape and teach their students about the media. I do hope my neurodivergent perspective on the industry provided them with valuable insight. It’s vital that young people with additional needs are given the same opportunities as everyone else.
