Interviews from Special Olympics in Turin broadcast around the world
17 March 2025

It was an honour to cover this year's Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, conducting interviews for audiences around the world.
Working for host broadcaster Restless Films, I conducted interviews at both opening and closing ceremonies as well as at the Stadio Del Ghiaccio Tazzoli, home to speed and figure skating competition.
The Winter Games of 2025 saw over 100 countries and 1,500 athletes descend on Turin, competing across eight sports. With an estimated 200 million intellectually disabled people globally, Special Olympics’ goal is to reach every one of them through training, competition, health screenings and other initiatives and events.
It was a real thrill to spend time in Turin covering such a remarkable event. My first work trip abroad, it was an unforgettable adventure meeting so many inspiring individuals from around the world. I was truly moved a number of times and to see so many nations joyfully coming together in 2025 felt very poignant.
The speed skating and figure skating provided some beautiful moments, not least this reunion between British figure skater Stephanie Gott and doctor Marco Pozzi, who treated her when she was a child. It was a real privilege to help tell her very powerful story. I'm grateful to Stuart and Phill at Restless Films for having me.
