Nominated as 'One to Watch – On Air' in sports press awards marking 2023
25 March 2024
Tonight, I attended the Sports Journalism Association awards in Central London, nominated in the 'Ones to Watch – On Air' category.
Earlier in the day, I spoke at a panel event organised by the award organisers, joining Sky Sports' diversity and inclusion reporter Miriam Walker-Khan and a number of other names growing in recognition.
At the ceremony, in the 'Ones to Watch – On Air' category, Walker-Khan walked away with the prize thanks to her “insightful and impactful journalism on a variety of subjects”. Her employer was also named Sports Content Organisation of the Year at the lush ceremony near Westminster Bridge.
2023 was my first full year in sports journalism, with highlights including interviews with rising star of boxing Adam Azim and Wrexham striker Paul Mullin. Appearing predominantly across ITV and Sky Sports, it was a year that saw me grow in confidence on screen and develop greater composure in front of the camera.
