Nearly six months in BBC comes to an end after glorious sporting summer
24 October 2024
Today, I have completed my second fixed-term contract with BBC Sport, working within their online team during a hectic year of sport.
As a digital journalist, I helped cover some of the summer's biggest events from Salford including the Olympics, Paralympics and Wimbledon while also supporting the football team on the European Championships.
While predominantly working on live text commentaries, I was also commissioned to write a number of 'on the day' news articles, bringing the latest sporting headlines to audiences. Articles touched on themes of racism, injury, Olympic selection and new competition formats across a multitude of sports.
Despite a tricky year personally, it was a joy to work with the team at BBC Sport again. Having also worked with the department in 2021, I know that producing sports content for large audiences is a huge privilege and responsibility. I hope to continue my positive relationship with BBC Sport over the years ahead.
