The Lisa May Foundation
Take a look at my work for the foundation supporting selected local charities in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire, at the same time raising funds for victims of natural disaster across the world.
On 25 April 2015, an earthquake struck Nepal with a magnitude of 7.8Mw. It was the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since 1934. With a large Nepalese community nearby, it felt only right that the Foundation should support the cause.
The day after the earthquake struck, Cheryl asked me to produce some appeal videos asking people to donate. In the following week, we filmed a vast range of people all encouraging the local community to help support Nepal.
On the back of the videos, collection boxes and help from schools, pubs and other local businesses, the Foundation raised over £111,000. This allowed a team of 21 UK doctors to fly out and personally deliver aid to the most remote communities.
They went on to build shelter homes and school halls which ultimately changed the lives of many in Nepal. I also helped to broadcast images sent back by "Team 21" to those who donated, through the Lisa May Foundation Facebook page and YouTube channel.
I am so incredibly honoured to have helped towards such a fantastic cause and it is humbling to know my videos have had such a positive impact across the world. It was wonderful to be a part of such a loving community and again, I must thank the Foundation for an incredible opportunity.
